February Session Giveaway!!

January 26, 2010

Congrats to Angie G.!!  She won the free session giveaway for February 2010!!

05:07:16 UTC = 11:07:16 CST

Don’t forget to become a fan of Stefani Marcus Photography on Facebook to be notified of the newest news FIRST!

And, Angie, I will be in contact this week to set up the February 28th session!

What IS the editing process, you maybe ask yourself after your session..

When I go home after a session, your images are uploaded into my photo software.  It takes several hours to weed out the best of the bunch, plus make minor adjustments such as exposure, white balance, color adjustment, etc etc.  The average session takes 12-15 hours from start (the day you email me) to finish (the day I send your final images to you).  A lot longer than the 1 hour of shooting, right?

Take a look at the following two photos.  The top one is the image that I would send to you on disk, for you to print & is edited.  The bottom one is the image that I would send to my professional photo lab if you were to order an image & is print ready.

Big difference, right?  This is why images from my printer cost more money.  More time is spent on making it *perfect* for you! =) You get a better quality image, 100x better quality paper, and a professional lab that uses the latest technology in printing.  Not, a 16 year old high school student doing an after school job.  Right?
Also – Images come out of the camera at a crop of 4×6, which is different than an 8×10.  I am able to select the correct crop for you before it goes off to the printer – instead of a machine choosing it for you.

Here is the new 2010 Pricing Guide.  (This does not apply to already booked sessions)

15-minute sessions:  (not normal monthly mini sessions)
(*restrictions apply!)
$75 – 5 images

30-minute sessions:
$100 – 10 to 15 image

1-hour sessions:
$150 – 20 to 25 images

Newborn Sessions:
$200 – 20 images

Birthday Parties:
$150/2 hours – 50+ images

All sessions will come with CD’s with images large enough to print up to an 8×10.  No major photoshop work will be done.   If you submit a print order of $75+, I will send you High Resolution images of your entire session.  Only images sent to the printer will be touched up extensively.

Print prices start at $10.
Specialty items are available for purchase as well (Standouts, Canvas prints, Fine Art, etc)
High Resolution Images available for purchase starting at $25/image.

I have been SO busy finishing editing, sending CDs and even forgetting to post the last 4 previews!  But, everyone has been so awesome this holiday season.  Thank you for everything =).
I thought December would be a slower month, and boy was I wrong!  It’s okay, I love my job!

Today, I took  a break from everything to hang out with my family.. check out the snow.. & decorate our little townhome!

The Big Announcement.

October 5, 2009

I mentioned to some of you that I would have an announcement on Monday evening. Well, I am going to just go ahead & do it now..  (and no I am not pregnant, lol).

I am quitting my full time job at my current place of work.  Most know, that I am currently a store manager for a popular tween store. I put in a good four years with the company, but I feel this is my time to leave and move on to bigger & better things.
With that..
I will be working for a local awesome portrait studio located in Colleyville.  This is not your run of the mill mall chain store.  It is going to be an awesome experience for me, and my future.
Of course this does limit my shootings due to photography schedules between studios & on-location.  I will be doing primarily ALL my sessions Sunday & Saturday early mornings during the upcoming fall.  All sessions scheduled will NOT change.

Now, going in to 2010 there will be changes.  I previously mentioned a price hike several months ago for 2010.  After debating, and going back and forth, the prices will be higher than originally planned.  I will still do once a month mini-sessions.  But regular full & half price sessions will be priced a bit higher.

You can always come get studio session photos done at the studio as well!! (They will not be done under the Stefani Marcus name, nor will you get my pricing, cd, or prints packages.)

There you have it.. I’m excited!

I wanted to take some time & talk about some upcoming changes to Stefani Marcus Photography.  I have mentioned it here & there.. but finally putting it down for everyone to read.  Some might of seen the changes on the main site, most probably have not! :)

For the past 10 months I have been portfolio building to get my business off the ground.  I officially opened as Stefani Marcus Photography in April.  My business continues to grow by the month & I couldn’t ask for more awesome clients & families to work with each week.
As most know.. I am also a full-time retail store manager.  Yes, I manage a near $1 million dollar store, and still manage to capture your sweet children in their most precious years.  Plus, tend to my loving husband & precious 2 year old daughter.

Over the past 10 months, I have slowly but surely learned new techniques, saved & purchased new equipment, grown as a photographer, and spent A LOT in gas money ;) .  As my abilities grow.. so do my prices.  Starting January 2010, prices will be starting at $100  for on-location sessions.
Please know: I am still one of the most affordable custom photographers in the area.
I am about to upgrade my equipment again (for the 2nd time in one year!), and will have some of the best quality equipment that I can provide.

Here is some helpful information regarding Custom Photography prices.

While some families might have to cut back on the amount of sessions they do a year.. I will understand.  Please do know.. Mini Sessions will remain!  They too will raise in price, but will still be affordable enough to be able to do on a monthly basis for most families.  Half – Sessions will remain too!

Thank you so much for the continued support & love.  I love being able to share these precious moments in time with you and your families.
Stefani.

Keep up to date with all mini session happenings, new additions, and changes!

Dear clients:

July 29, 2009

okay, so..
most know I started portfolio building last year for my business.  i’ve slowly been working my way through the business.. adding on as I go.. etc etc.

I printed a few test images & realized that there was a yellow tint on quite a few images.  I am in the process of sorting through hundreds of photos that appear yellow.  If you have printed images & they appeared yellow.. PLEASE email me the image # and session date.  I will fix the coloring!  My computer is now calibrated correctly to fix this error.

so, thank you again for the continued support as I learn as I go ;) .  I thank you all for the patience & understanding of me being a new photographer!

fathersday

for all that you do, for all that you are.. thank you fathers for everything!  especially to my amazing husband & father to our precious little girl.  i love you!
